Charles L.M. Dunlop

Chief Executive Officer,
Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Dunlop founded Ambry Genetics in November 1999. He has extensive experience in establishing and managing laboratories in research, manufacturing and technology transfer environments. Among Mr. Dunlop's various positions in the general scientific industry, he has worked in the molecular biology laboratories of the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, as well as in research laboratories of diagnostic kit provider Gen-Probe. Mr. Dunlop also managed the molecular biology and pharmacology group of Biophysica, a preclinical pharmaceutical development company. He is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with concentrations in biology, mathematics, physics, economics and history. Mr. Dunlop has published numerous scientific articles and has guided Ambry Genetics from inception to a highly reputable and successful enterprise.

Jennifer Wei, M.D., Ph.D.

Chief Medical Officer

After receiving a B.S. in Chemistry with honors at California Institute of Technology, Dr. Wei entered the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was awarded her M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology under the Medical Scientist Training Program Grant awarded by the National Institute of Health. Dr. Wei continued her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UCLA. As a trainee, she recognized and appreciated the expanding role of molecular pathology in daily clinical practice. In 2009, she entered a one-year fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) under the mentorship of Dr. Wayne Grody at UCLA prior to joining Ambry Genetics in 2010. 

Ardy Arianpour, MBA

Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Arianpour joined Ambry Genetics in April of 2009 and currently serves as Vice President of Business Development, responsible for all corporate business development activities, including strategic planning, corporate partnerships and alliances. Mr. Arianpour developed the Genomics division in early 2009 at Ambry Genetics and oversees worldwide sales. Before joining Ambry Genetics, Mr. Arianpour was Manager of Business Development at Cogenics, a division of Clinical Data. Prior to that, he was with Eurogentec North America and DMI Medical in senior sales roles managing and building business opportunities both domestically and internationally. Mr. Arianpour has 12+ years of experience in life science sales, business development and strategic planning. He holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and an MBA in Strategic Management from Marshall Goldsmith School of Management at Alliant International University / University of California, San Diego.

Charles M. Caporale, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Caporale joined Ambry Genetics in November 2008 as chief financial officer. Since 1997 he has served as chief financial officer for various southern California publicly-traded companies operating principally in the insurance and pharmaceutical markets. Prior to 1997, Mr. Caporale served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of New York-based Minet, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the St. Paul Companies. Mr. Caporale received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Pace University in New York. He is a New York State licensed CPA.

Elizabeth Chao, M.D.

Director of Translational Medicine

Dr. Chao graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and received her M.D. from University of California, Irvine. As a Howard Hughes Scholar at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), Dr. Chao specialized in genomic technologies and cancer genetics. More recently her research has focused on novel methods for interpreting DNA variants. Dr. Chao completed her training in Clinical Molecular Genetics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and prior to joining Ambry, served as Associate Director of the Genetic Diagnostic Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Neil M. Barth, M.D., FACP

Director of Oncology

Dr. Barth received his B.S. Degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. His internship and residency were completed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center as well as his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He has triple life-time board certification in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology and was named as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1987. Dr. Barth began his medical practice in Orange County at Hoag Hospital and in his thirty years at Hoag, served on virtually every medical staff committee involved in quality and clinical research. Before joining Ambry as Director of Oncology, Dr. Barth was focused on developing systems of care for oncology patients and physicians.

Aaron Elliott, Ph.D.

Director of Research and Development
Interim Director of Genomic Services

Dr. Elliott received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Franklin and Marshall College and went on to do his Genetics Ph.D. training at Thomas Jefferson University and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His thesis involved studying the role of CREB-binding protein in germline and stem cell development. Dr. Elliott conducted his postdoctoral training in the cancer stem cell department at the Novartis Institute for Functional Genomics in San Diego, CA., where he studied potential drug targets for chemotherapeutic resistance and identified the first mitochondrial ABC transporter implicated in cancer drug resistance.

James Dunlop

Vice President, Operations

Mr. Dunlop is a co-founder of Ambry Genetics and became Vice President of Operations in 2011 after having managed many facets of Ambry Genetics, including accessioning, client services, shipping and receiving, inventory, marketing and sales, medical records and community outreach. Mr. Dunlop is also the co-founder and President of the Mauli Ola Foundation. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a concentration in western political theory. Mr. Dunlop was raised in Laguna Beach, where he lives today with his wife Nicole and son George.  

Kurtis Glade

Vice President, Marketing

Mr. Glade joined Ambry Genetics in 2011 and directs all marketing and branding activities for the company. Prior to Ambry he spent the majority of his career at advertising agencies in New York and San Francisco where he created award-winning campaigns for international brands like AT&T, Microsoft and Intel. His background as a writer, creative director and strategic adviser for consumer and B-to-B brands brings a unique perspective to the lead marketing position. Mr. Glade is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where he studied communication, English and art.

Jacqueline Threadgill

Vice President, Managed Care

Ms. Threadgill currently serves as Vice President of Managed Care at Ambry Genetics. Ms. Threadgill has more than 15 years of experience in managed care, sales and marketing in the healthcare, biotechnology and laboratory industries including Highmark Blue Shield. Ms. Threadgill has successfully led start up teams within the healthcare industry and has also been awarded Account Executive of the year. She holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in Microbiology from Pennsylvania State University and an EMBA from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Steven Keiles, M.S., CGC

Director of Genetic Specialists

Mr. Keiles began working at Ambry in 2000 where he oversees the client services department. He is also involved in contracting, new product development, pricing, marketing, and research publication. Mr. Keiles obtained his masters degree in genetic counseling from Sarah Lawrence College in 1987. As a genetic counselor at Kaiser Permanente his responsibilities included clinic coordination, program implementation and counseling for all genetic referrals. He was elected the 2009 President of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, where he was responsible for leading the association and serving as the chief spokesperson. Mr. Keiles has more than 20 years of clinical experience and his research publications include molecular diagnostic testing for cystic fibrosis and pancreatitis.

Kalani Robb

Public Outreach Director

Mr. Robb is the public outreach director for Ambry Genetics where he helps raise awareness of genetic diseases in the community. A former professional surfer, he has won numerous national and world championships. Mr. Robb is considered one of the best surfers of his generation. He now combines his passion for surfing with his passion for helping others. In his current role, Mr. Robb deepens Ambry's relationship with schools, community groups and children's hospitals in ways that educate and inspire with special focus on brightening the spirits of young adults fighting genetic diseases.
